So every year most of us make a resolution to be better at something or to stop doing something that we don’t like. I have never been one to make resolutions, but I have a few times in life. One thing I find to be true for most people is how hard it is to keep the resolution going. Many new goals for the year will involve working out and losing weight. Some will be creative like climbing a mountain or bungee jumping. And many of you reading this will make a resolution to develop your voice more in 2012. I have some personal goals for my own voice in the new year. So what are your plans? How are you going to succeed? What are you going to do differently in 2012 than you did in 2011?
Last week, I made the decision to start taking more sessions myself to help achieve the vocal goals I have. I actually booked a session with Brett. I have to say it was incredible. I felt things vocally that I haven’t in a while, and there was so much freedom. You may be thinking that I should already know it all as a coach, but you would be wrong. Clearly, we are all continuously growing and learning if we open our minds up. I will always be learning more and more about the voice and my own voice. I find this so exciting. To think that my voice can be better in 2012 gets me energized. I plan on doing many more lessons this year. I would suggest you do the same. If you are truly serious about your voice, let me suggest you make the decision now to work with a coach this year. Let someone help you achieve your personal goals. I can assure you that you will have a great time doing it. And more than that, you will be less likely to quit and make that resolution a reality.
