5 Achievable Vocal Goals for 2022

Happy New Year!

If you’re reading this, we at Singing Success believe that you are capable of becoming an amazing singer! Maybe you’re already there. Regardless, there’s no better way to keep honing your craft than to clearly define your goals and let those be your fuel for training like a pro.

Here are 5 Achievable Vocal Goals for 2022:

1. Record your first song or EP!

There has never been an easier time to create high-quality studio recordings. Whether you’ve got original songs or some covers that you like to sing, record them professionally this year!

How to do this: Go online and hire a music producer or recording studio that makes music you like. Don’t restrict your search to producers/studios in your area, there are amazing professionals that you could hire to produce your track remotely. Let them take you through the process of recording, producing, and engineering. And when your project is done, share it!

2. Get on stage and sing!

Location doesn’t matter, just get out there and sing! There is no better feeling than sharing your musical gifts and talents with others. Don’t underestimate the impact that your music will have on others!

How to do this: Email a local venue whether it’s a coffee shop, restaurant, hotel lobby, or theater and schedule it. Or search for an open mic night! For you pros, book that tour or get on that festival that you’ve been putting off!

3. Sing for your loved ones!

Some of you have been working on your voice and music for years, but no one has heard you sing yet. I totally understand the hesitation of singing for others, the core of it is often a fear of rejection. I want you to think of this as a part of the process of mastering your voice. Even if you don’t do well, I guarantee you’ll do better next time!

How to do this: Text a friend or family member that you know is uplifting and ask them if you could sing them a song. If this scares you, then let them know that this is difficult for you and you’d love any encouragement they can provide after hearing you sing.

4. Share a cover, or an original song, on social media!

This is a variation of #3, but with some perks. In the comfort of your own home, you can record yourself singing a song as many times as you want before sharing it. That takes some of the pressure off. The other perk is that sharing good singing content is a large part of building fans!  How to do this: Buy a phone stand, mount your phone, get a good angle, and record a video of yourself singing! Then upload it to your platform of choice. Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube are some great choices.

5. Develop new skills as a singer!

Make this the year that you master your vibrato, develop your high range, or finally start creating your own style as a singer. The more skills you develop vocally, the more compelling your singing will be! How to do this: You’ll need a method and a practice plan. There’s no better way to develop new skills than taking singing lessons or working with our programs. If you’re interested in either option, please reach out to us!

I hope these options inspire you to take action on your musical goals this year! If you’d like personal help working through one or more of these goals, I’d love to help you in a lesson!
